Copper Center, AK
Originally planted as First Baptist Church Copper Valley in the early 1990's, and later renamed Northern Life Church, the Ministry Center facility has a rich history of serving the Copper River Valley. Many were led to Christ in this building. Unfortunately, church ministry waned over the years, and the church building was turned over to the Alaska Baptist Resource Network (ABRN) in the Summer of 2024. At the same time, Brian & Heather Williams were being called to return to Alaska for ministry and Glen Cotton with NorthWord Ministries was searching for a facility to teach his Basic Ministry and Bible Courses. Through God's sovereignty, Brian and Glen were connected through the ABRN and they, together with Derek McMurtry, founded Fields of Alaska Ministries (FAM) as a vehicle for God's work in the Copper River Valley and other parts of rural Alaska.
The facility is currently undergoing improvements to better enable FAM to host mission teams, host missionaries who might be discerning whether they are being called to serve in Alaska, host basic ministry classes and trainings, and serve as a base of support for Ministry of the Gospel of Jesus in the Copper River Valley.
